Love Game from "JUSTICE OF THE PEACH"
In September 2009, I moved to Georgia and fell in love with the cooler fall weather, reminiscent of Nashville. On Sundays, Sandra and I would visit Macon from time to time and started writing “Love Game”. Just a simple love story about two people playing the game of life together every day. Sandra, "The Professor" as I call her, was instrumental in pulling this melody out of my inner thoughts and very helpful with the lyrics. This was an interesting 50/50 venture into the world of writing songs with your lover. Thanks Sandra.
LOVE GAME (c)Gregg McMillan/Sandra Hancock
Don't feel the world's mounted up on your shoulders
Don't believe anything and everything you hear
don't think for a minute I wouldn't come runnin' over
cause through the miles, in my heart, I am near
you're so afraid I'll go away
and that our love will fade
I never wanted things to change…it's just a Love game
your world is Broadway and Park Place
My world seems to never ever pass go
our love has changed and taken a new face
I drew a chance on my heart and I'll bet you know
you're so afraid I'll go away
when it's my turn to play
just a chance to roll the dice...it's just a Love game
Stars begin to fall
as night closes in on a lonely place
and there’s nowhwere at all
I’d rather be than looking at you
dressed in just a smile on your face…It’s just a love game
Don’t feel the world’s mounting up on your shoulders
Don’t believe anything and everything you hear
In my dreams we’re running through a field of flowers
Laughing as the wind dances in our hair
you're so afraid I'll go away
and that our love will fade
I never wanted things to change…it's just a Love game
