When I was a bartender at The Gold Rush in Nashville Tennessee in 1987-88, one of my regular bar customers was a beautiful girl that worked on an "on call" basis. Her clients ranged from some of Nashville's biggest country music stars to the presidents of Record companies to state politicians. She once told me she would give anything to get out of the business and back to her hometown in Kentucky. I asked her why she just didn't do it and she said her boss or rather her pimp as she call him would beat her or kill her as he had in the past.   One day she came in and said that she had started taking tap dance lessons and was real happy she had met some real nice folks like me. Then a few weeks later I saw a friend of hers who said she had left and gone back to Kentucky.  I was thinking of her one day while watching the news about a black man in his 30's that had disappeared....

Down in the yellow moonlight

A pretty ballerina dancin’ in the night

Like a marionette puppet on a tattered string

Cut loose and free ridin’ she glides

A paper mache dollhouse inside

Y’know she hit the ground runnin’ from these things

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo

On the same street another block away

A happy little crowd you could hear the kids say

“we welcome anybody who drives a heart”

She could take a bow in the right place

Make some new friends, put a smile on her face

Such a wonderful chance to make a new start

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo…JUSTICE MOON

Now when the bad man found his worst fear

He came lookin’ for his last nightmare

The kids set him up on easy street sure enough

He shot his last dancer when she chased her last dream

Never found the gun but the kids heard the scream

This time’ll be the last time he tries to pull that stuff

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo

Wo oh oh wo   Wo oh oh wo…JUSTICE MOON
